About this workshop
A scented journey through Iceland, from Reykjavík harbour to the top of a glacier.
This immersive workshop, hosted by Fischersund co-founder Lilja Birgisdottir will take you on a scented journey to experience the scent of Iceland. 25 people will have the opportunity to experience the scent of the old Reykjavik harbor, where our nose Jónsi worked alongside his father, and memories of the family’s childhood growing up in a small village called Mosfellssveit just outside the city, to the top of Icelandic glacier.
Attendees will also enjoy the rare opportunity to experience Icelandic essential oils created with Fischersund’s distiller, Hraundís, and receive an exclusive gift.
Workshop overview
The Smell of Iceland is an invitation to experience the country through its scents, sounds, images and memories.
Through poems, art and music, Lilja Birgisdottir takes participants on a scented journey through places and memories connected to Iceland. The experience moves from the old Reykjavík harbour and the family’s childhood in Mosfellssveit to the top of an Icelandic glacier, with an opportunity to experience rare Icelandic essential oils along the way.

Lilja Birgisdottir
— Fischersund
Lilja Birgisdottir is a founding member of Fischersund perfumery art collective and its brand ambassador, where she heads up creative collaborations. A photographer and mixed media artist, her work includes photography, performance, video art, sound art and installations. She lives and works in Reykjavík, Iceland.
