Workshop
Invisible Colors of Perfume

Immersive workshop explores the fascinating relationship between scent, colour, texture, and perception.

About this workshop

Why do some fragrances feel blue, warm, bright, or soft?

Hosted by TuffTuff Studio, this immersive workshop explores the fascinating relationship between scent, colour, texture, and perception. Blending neuroscience with perfumery, participants discover how the brain instinctively translates fragrance into visual and emotional experiences.

Through storytelling, guided smelling, and interactive sensory exercises, the session reveals why certain materials feel luminous, dark, smooth, or vibrant—and how perfumers intentionally compose fragrances with these invisible qualities.

— Discover how the brain connects scent with colour and texture
— Guided sensory exercises using raw materials
— Explore contrast, brightness, and density in fragrance creation
— Compare raw materials with finished accords
— Learn why some fragrances feel realistic while others feel flat
— Discussion on perception, neuroscience, and olfactory storytelling

Workshop overview

Participants begin by smelling individual materials and describing the colours, textures, emotions, and atmospheres they evoke. From there, the workshop explores how perfumers use contrast, brightness, density, and "colour identity" to create fragrances that feel vivid, realistic, and emotionally resonant.

Combining neuroscience, storytelling, and practical smelling exercises, the session offers a new perspective on both perfume and perception.
