Workshop
Forest Speaks in Scent

A multi-sensory workshop on smell, memory, and perception.

About this workshop

What if scent was the oldest language on Earth?

Hosted by UNDA PRISCA, this immersive workshop explores how plants, fungi, insects, animals, and humans communicate through scent. Blending ecology, perfumery, and sensory storytelling, participants discover the invisible chemical signals that shape memory, behaviour, and our relationship with the natural world.

Through guided smelling, listening, and participatory exercises, you'll uncover surprising connections—from butterflies that smell like vanilla and burnt sugar to indole, a molecule shared by white flowers and far less romantic corners of biology. The result is a new way of understanding scent as a living language rather than simply something we wear

Workshop overview

This workshop invites participants into the hidden networks of chemical communication shared across forests, flowers, fungi, insects, animals, and humans. Through contemporary olfactory research, guided sensory exercises, and collaborative reflection, participants discover how smell influences memory, emotion, orientation, and the way we experience the world around us.

Rather than simply learning about scent, you'll begin experiencing it as one of nature's oldest and most sophisticated communication systems.
