Lemon Verbena POM

Introducing the material

Lemon verbena shaped by Tunisia’s greener northwest.

Aloysia citriodora is immediately bright and citrus-like, but this expression carries more than the expected lemon character. Fresh leaf, green herbs and a softer floral quality sit underneath the initial brightness.

Cultivated in Aïn Draham, where the climate is cooler, greener and more humid than much of inland Tunisia, the plant is distilled fresh to retain as much of its living botanical character as possible.

The opening

Bright and lemon-like, with fresh green leaf and an airy aromatic lift.

The development

The citrus becomes softer and more integrated. Herbal, leafy and lightly floral facets emerge, giving the material a broader botanical character.

The drydown

Gentle, green and softly woody-herbal, with a faint citrus trace lingering rather than dominating.

Citrus freshness that remains botanical.

This Lemon Verbena can brighten florals and aromatic structures without behaving like a conventional citrus peel oil.

Its leafy and herbal body allows it to sit naturally beside woods, herbs and green materials, while the softer floral facets give it an easy connection to more delicate compositions.

The origin of the material

Cultivated Lemon Verbena from Aïn Draham.

Fresh flowers and leaves are harvested during the summer season and enter distillation without a drying stage.

Preserving the plant in its fresh state helps retain the immediate green and volatile qualities surrounding its lemon character, while the longer extraction reveals softer herbal and woody facets underneath.

As with the other POM materials, three olfactory evaluations are carried out during extraction, following how the balance between brightness, green plant material and heavier aromatic facets develops over time.
