SHAMAL is a Finnish material practice working through fragrance, objects, archives and sensory research, a dialogue between Nordic landscapes and the aromatic traditions of North Africa and West Asia.
About this exhibitor
At Polaris Olfactive, SHAMAL presents its first fragrance collection: four scents built around the Nordic seasons, each beginning from an ordinary moment. First Voyage captures autumn through the memory of walking in the forest after rain. Winter Voyage holds the relief of stepping from freezing cold into warmth during harsh northern winters. Modi Mökille/Ode to the Cabin is dedicated to the arrival of spring at a lakeside cabin. Löyly turns toward summer and midsummer memory of warming a wood-burning sauna at the cabin.
Together, the four fragrances for a seasonal archive of personal landscapes, material memories and Nordic atmosphere, guided by one conviction: luxury is attention.
